Content Standards

Our content standards describe the qualities every page on Surokkha Guide should have, and the lines we will not cross. They apply to every article, category page and policy page, whoever writes it. They sit alongside our editorial policy and our fact-checking policy.

Plain language

Many of our readers use English as a second language, read on a mobile phone, or are helping a relative from another country. We write for them:

• Short sentences and short paragraphs.
• Clear headings that describe what each section answers.
• Technical terms and abbreviations, such as NID, BRN, EPI or QR code, explained the first time they appear.
• Practical checklists and step-by-step overviews where they help.
• No jargon for its own sake and no marketing language.

Careful health framing

Vaccination is a health topic, and health information must be handled with care. Our health content:

• Is consistent with guidance from national health authorities, the World Health Organization and UNICEF.
• Describes benefits and possible side effects honestly and in proportion.
• Uses cautious wording where guidance varies by person, and explains when to speak to a doctor, nurse or health worker.
• Is fact-checked against official and authoritative sources by our health content editor, Arif Hossain, before publication. Our guides are not reviewed by a medical professional, so they always direct readers to a qualified doctor or health worker for personal decisions.

No individual medical advice

Our guides provide general information. They cannot take account of a reader's health history, medicines, pregnancy, allergies or other circumstances, so we do not tell any individual what they personally should do. We encourage readers to take their questions to a qualified health professional, and we tell readers to seek urgent care for a severe reaction or emergency. See our disclaimer.

No fear-mongering and no misinformation

We do not publish anti-vaccine misinformation, conspiracy theories or exaggerated claims about risks. Equally, we do not overstate what a vaccine can do or dismiss people's genuine concerns. When readers are worried about something, we explain what authoritative sources say and encourage them to discuss it with a health professional.

Neutrality

We explain processes; we do not campaign for or against political parties, officials or policies. When a process is frustrating, we focus on practical steps that help readers, not on blame. We do not publish rumours about upcoming changes; we wait until they are confirmed by an official source.

Accessibility

We want our guides to be usable by as many people as possible. That means readable text sizes and colour contrast, pages that work on small screens and slow connections, meaningful link text, headings in a logical order, and descriptive alternative text on images. Images

• Photographs on our guides and category pages are illustrative and AI-generated. They do not depict real people, real patients or real events.
• Images never include the national emblem, government logos, official seals, flag-based marks or anything designed to look like an official portal.
• Images never show readable personal data, such as names, ID numbers, QR codes or certificate details. Screens and documents in our images are deliberately abstract.
• Every image has descriptive alternative text.

Links

We link to the official portal, surokkha.gov.bd, whenever a guide describes an action that must be completed there. We also link to authoritative sources such as DGHS, the World Health Organization and UNICEF. We do not link to unofficial services that charge for registration or certificates, and we check links at every review. Our sources and references policy explains how we choose them.

No impersonation of government services

Surokkha Guide is independent and unofficial. Our design, name and wording must never suggest otherwise. We therefore:

• Show a clear independence notice on every page.
• Never use official emblems, logos or the look of the official portal.
• Never include forms, fields or buttons that look like they register someone, download or verify a certificate, or collect personal information.
• Label every call to action that leads to the official portal clearly, for example "Go to the official portal".

What we will never publish

• Instructions or offers to obtain a vaccine certificate without being vaccinated, or to buy one.
• Ways to edit, forge or alter a certificate, or to bypass or trick QR code verification.
• Advice on using someone else's identity documents or records.
• Promotion of paid agents or "fast-track" services that claim special access to official systems.
• Content that asks readers to share ID numbers, one-time passwords or other personal data.
• Sponsored content presented as independent editorial.
